A Journey that Changed Two Lives Forever!

Rita and Rina, two dog sisters, found themselves homeless, hungry, helpless and exposed to the elements. They had to fend for themselves with no one to love them and no home to call their own. Worse still, Rita’s right paw was lacerated with a broken bone.

With Rina never leaving her side, Rita limped in pain from West Tulsa to Sapulpa – a journey of almost 15 miles that took days. Finally, two kind souls took in the girls for the night and reached out to us for help the next day.

We knew we couldn’t turn away these poor fur babies.

We took Rita to the vet right away. After an examination, the vet recommended amputation in order to stop the severe infection from spreading. After the surgery, a volunteer nursed Rita back to health.

Once they were both vetted and healthy, we put them up for adoption. Happily, Rita was adopted by a loving family – but this story just gets better – they later came back to adopt Rina!  You can imagine how delighted the sisters were to be reunited. And the family is now complete, thanks to your support.
